John D. Williams, or krash as the community knows him, went into surgery in March 2000 to try and repair a herniated disc. about 8 months after he started to notice pain in his back, and it only got worse as time went on. doctors originally thought he had blown out another disc, as it was the likely problem after an operation like that. he went through CT Scans, MRI's, and a Lumbar Mylogram, but they found no sign of further rupture to his back.
unfortunately for krash what they found out was much worse. the doctors found signs of permanent nerve damage and scar tissue. then he learned the hard news to hear, that the pain was not going to get better...only worse.
he has started something doctors call Pain Management, which forces him to completely alter his lifestyle just to be able to deal with the pain.
now, he is unable to drive, sit, or do nearly anything where he doesn't move for more than few minutes without experiencing massive pain. he can walk for only 15-20 minutes before having to use a cane, and can work for only short periods of time before having to lie down for a subsantial time frame.
"if I go grocery shopping with my family, I will have to spend the next day laying on the couch all day from the pain"
he's weak in his right leg and back, has endless muscle cramps, and looses feeling in his left hand, both of his legs and his back...and...
"I get shooting pain in both my legs
"it feels like a long needle is being shoved down the back of your leg
"really fast and really hard"
he can hardly work, and as of yet makes no money. his family has no income, as his wife is going to school to train for a job to support the family.
he is currently trying to get 800 dollars a month from the government for disablity reasons, but even that equates to a mere $9600 a year, not barely enough to support a family. his wife has figured out that he has already lost over $60,000.
here's what you can do to ease his pain:
1. hire him. if there are deviants here who could hire him for web design and web developement, let him know, so long as he could "work from home on my own schedule....". he is quite a talented web designer [[link] may load slowly].
2. send him money via paypal. if you have a paypal account, send as much money as you feel like to krash_44@yahoo.com...
3. send him gifts or cards. i'm sure krash would love anything you can send him, from a card, to a image you've drawn, etc, etc...he'd just love to hear from you. check out the mailing address on the bottom of the page if you're interested in that.
i think we can make this a happy holidays for him and his family after all.

that's very thoughtful of you five. KrasH is one of the nicest members of this community and only deserves good. he's helped out countless members of DA, and even the smallest things we can do for him would be great.

amen 5 ...krash is one of my favorite people on here...not only is he a fantastic photographer but he's always leaving kind words for people on their submission...he truly deserves better than what he has to endure...

I think the community should get together and make him like a card or something.
Everyone submit artwork -
and then mix it all together or something.
Or have some people make the artwork -
then have submitt little poems or whatever -
and then have someone print it with all the little hellos and sayings and sigs of the deviants.
